Blog Writing #24: Special expressions (which are) followed by gerunds (due Wednesday 7/18)

1.  Tell the class something that you used to do before you came to the U.S.

Example:  I used to eat dinner with my parents every day.

2.  Tell the class something that you're used to doing now that you weren't used to doing in your country before coming here.

Example:  Before I came to the U.S., I never did my own laundry. However, now that I've been here for a while, I've gotten used to doing my own laundry, which I dread.

    1.I used to go out with my family every Sunday.

    2.Before coming to USA, I was sitting on the right seat when I drove. Right now, I am used to driving on the left seat.

    i used to go to school from saturday to wednesday, not from monday to friday.

    before i came to the US, i have never paid any bills. however, now i have to, so i've gotten used to pay my bills.

    I use to go to school at night.

    Before i came to US I used to sleep until afternoons, and now i'm getting used to spending time doing my homework or studying for Greg’s Texts.

    i used to travel a lot.

    Before i came to US i used to eat traditional foods. However, now that i have been here for eight months, I’ve gotten used to eating fast foods.

    Before I came to the US I used to hang out a lot with my friends. However, now that I've been here for almost a year, I've gotten used to studying everyday, not going out a lot and I feel that I'm becoming a boring person

    I used to watch Korean dramas with my mother.

    Before I came to the U.S., I was used to eating three meal each day. However, now that I am getting used to eating two meal each day.

    Before I came to the U.S., I never felt lonely. However, now that I've been here for a while, I've gotten used to staying alone.

      100%.

      You can live alone but not feel lonely. And you can live with someone and feel very lonely. So I"m not sure what you mean. If you're feeling lonely, it's a good idea to get together with friends!

    I used to play all the time.

    Before I came to the U.S., I never tried to drive. However, now that I've been here for a while, I've gotten used to driving everyday .

    I used to work at an airport.

    Before I came to the U.S. I never spoke English. Now, I have gotten used to speaking English and watching English movie.

    When i was in my country, i used to hang out every weekend with my friends

    Before I came to the U.S, i never took bus to go to school. Now, since i arrived here, i've gotten used to taking bus to go to school.
