Answer the following questions:
1. What are some interesting experiences you have had in your lifetime?
2. What are some things you have not yet done in your lifetime but would like to do?
3. What are some of the places you have visited in the world or in your country, and when did you visit them?
I don't know what I have to say when someone asks me to tell about my life. Nothing is interesting in my life until I begin my journey to the US. I've been the airport for a night because I miss the flight. I've ridden in Sea World. I've never play that game before. It made me scared and dizzy. I'm sure that I never do it again. I've not known how to drive yet. Do you believe that I've ridden bicycle to go to school for 4 years? I've still been surprised about both people and life in the US. They're fast. I really respect older people. I remember that my father has flapped my face when I'm impolite with my brother. I've participated in military training class for 3 months. I've not still become an adult in my parents’ mind yet. They're always worried too much to let me to go somewhere. However, I've gone out several times without their permission. I want to help my family have a better life, but I haven't yet done. I've just studied very hard. I've still been trying to go in my road that I chose.
ReplyDeleteMy interesting experiences in my life were in Thailand. I've experienced hanging on cable and go down from the 56th floor of a building to the ground, and of course i was so scared at the beginning. And after that, i've taken parasailing, it was so great.
ReplyDeleteThe thing that i've not done yet in my life and would like to do is to travel to other countries with my mom. And i'll do it when i get back to vietnam after my studying.
I've been in many places in my country, because i love travelling and thought that before i discover other countries, i need to discover my country first, and at the end of last year, i travelled a lot in my country for work, so i took the chance to discover more the places that i came. And out of Vietnam, i've travelled to Cambodia for 1 time and Thailand for 1 time.
Excellent present perfect.
DeleteSince you like exciting experiences, I know some skydivers (or future ones) to introduce you to.
i would love to try skydivers out :)
DeleteI have had many interesting experiences in my life time, but the most interesting thing is that I just learned how to drive a car in Houston last month. Compering with my brothers my father thought me how to drive a car so late. My brothers learned when they were 13-14 years old and I am 19 years old now. I'm crazy about skydiving and I haven't done it yet but I would like to do it next month with my friends. I have been to London when I was child. I have lived there for three years and studied kindergarten, preliminary, and first primary there.

The verb tenses are incorrect. Can you explain the mistakes?
- I have done a lot of interesting experiences in my life, but the most interesting was scuba diving. its definitely amazing under the sea, and I saw things I havent seen it in real life before such as sawfishes and dolphins. - When I was younger I always wanted to try bungee jumping, but I couldn't have the chance to try it, so I would like to do it as soon as I can. - I have travelled to many places around the world, but the most interesting places i've been to is Madrid, Spain and Venice, Italy.
ReplyDeleteI went scubadiving once in Belize. I LOVED it. It's another world under the sea--so peaceful and so BLUE! I'd love to go again some time soon.
DeleteCan you correct this mistake:
"I saw things I haven't seen it in real life before."
Hi, I've had some experiences in my life, since i was a kid my parents had been moving a lot, we have lived in Veracruz, Mexico a nice place with beautiful beaches, situated on the south part of Mexico, then my parents moved to Edinburg, TX but my momo did not like it and then we moved back to Reynosa, back in the days it was just a little village but but I have loved Reynosa since I was a child because is the city where most of my family have been living.. I have lived in Ohio also, a very boring and quite place, probably I have felt like that because my mom sent me a whole summer to live with some people that i didn't know to learn english, i didn't even know how to order a burger hahah and then I moved to Monterrey where i have lived all my high school and part of the University and my mom has been living in Mission, TX since then and i've been living here in Houston for almost a year.
ReplyDeleteThis is small question needs much time to answer it. we have learned in our live many lessons. Through my experience I have faced Varity situation which made my personality. The important thing I have learned relating to human relationship. Which mean adapting with people whose different opinions. Even if people perspectives don’t consonant with my conviction, I have respected it. on the other hand, I still have had difficult to tackle the negative thinking toward some goals relish traveling to new places. so, I have been to many countries, such as , turkey, Indonisia,Malaysia,Thiland,Japan,Egypt, and Bhrain.
ReplyDeleteYour present perfect is all correct and I like your use of vocabulary: adapt, perspective, consonant, conviction, tackle, relish
DeleteAlthough I consider myself a very adventure person, I haven’t had that much interesting experience in my life. In my country we do have a lot of choices of traveling by car, to know some new places like beaches and forests. The only unusual and great adventure that I have done was shark diving. I did it in South Africa- Cape Town and it was the best experience I have ever been trough. What I consider to be my top list of things to do ‘before I die’ is: skubadiving, bungee jumping and skydiving. About the places I have been to, I only traveled to a lot of countries in Africa such as: Brazzaville, Namibia, South Africa, Cote Devoir, Zambia and of course Zimbabwe (which is where I was born), I don’t know exactly when, but I do know that South Africa was the last country that I visited before I came to the U.S.
ReplyDelete"great adventure that I have done."
DeleteUse "had" instead of "done" or "been" for experiences.
Correct use of the present perfect.
So you are going to be in our 5EFsummer2012 Skydiving club too?
Off course! Is not even on my second guess... Let's do it :D. Thanks for the correction Holly. ''The grate adventure that i had was shark diving'...
DeleteIs not even on my second guess.
DeleteCorrect: I don't even have to give it a second guess.
Also, ''The grate adventure that i had was shark diving'...
Also possible: "The great adventure that I have had was shark diving."
Both work, because this is an event that happened in the past but we don't know precisely when.
I have been studying in Houston since last September. I have had some interesting experiences. I have ridden jet ski on the lake. I have travelled from Houston to Orlando by car with two of my friends. I have seen sun set on the mountain in Austin. However, I have not done some dreams since i came to the U.S.. I have not been Alaska yet. I have not played golf yet. My coach told me that there are better and cheaper golf clubs than Taiwan. I should try it before I go back to Taiwan. I have not improve my English as my second language very well. I have been to Mexico, Thailand, Shanghai, and Germany. I visited them in Summer for two years ago.
ReplyDeleteExcellent use of the present perfect. The only mistake is "have not improved" instead of "improve."
DeleteI have not been to Alaska yet either. I would love to go there one day.
1) I have had many interesting experiences in my life. One of them is about my bike. When I was a child, I have ridden my bike a lot. One day, my bike was stolen. After three months, I saw my bike in a bike store and I decided to rent it. Then, I went to police to take my bike back. Finally, I took my bike and this was an unforgettable experience for me.
ReplyDelete2) In my lifetime, I have never done a scuba diving and I would like to do this. I have always wondered under the sea. I hope, in the future, I will reach my imagination.
3) I have visited Istanbul and Izmir in Turkey. It was two years ago.
